The body needs a small amount of vitamins. Vitamins participate in metabolic activities in the body along with vicarious as covaric and stimulant. Plants produce almost all of the vitamins or their precursor compounds.

Carbohydrates, fats, proteins are essential for the growth of all living things. In addition to these carbonaceous substances, certain specific carbon compounds are required in small quantities. Errors in these compounds stunt the growth of living things. 

They also have some disorders. Such carbon compounds are called vitamins. Christian Eikmann's research on beriberi disorder (1893-97) found that defects in certain foods are caused by defects in certain foods. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for this research. In 1912, scientist Casimir Funk named these compounds vitamins.

 In contrast, all animals depend on the nutrients in their diet for vitamins. Unlike nutrients, vitamins are not digested. However they are absorbed in the stomach and small intestine. They are then carried through the circulatory system to the body parts as needed. Vitamins are grouped into fat-soluble fat and water-soluble water-soluble. A, D, E, K are fat soluble and B, C are water soluble vitamins.

Vitamins and their sources
The group of fat-soluble vitamins includes vitamins A, D, E and K. Even if food is cooked in the usual way, these vitamins are not destroyed.

Vitamin A: Its chemical name is retinol. It is a solid alcohol and is yellow. Red and yellow fruits are rich in Vitamin A. Liver of sharks, halibut, tuna, seals, whales, polar bears is abundant. It can be obtained from oil extracted from fish liver. 

It is found in abundance in milk and milk derived cream, butter and ghee as well as spinach, cilantro, maize, turmeric, sweet potato, tomato, carrot, red pumpkin, papaya and mango. Vitamin A is found in animal oils in the form of retinol and dehydroretinol. In plant matter it is in the form of pigment called carotene. Carotene is a precursor of vitamin A. In the body it is converted into retinol. Adults need 900 micrograms of vitamin A daily.

Vitamin A deficiency causes blurred vision and night blindness. Overdose of this vitamin is toxic. This causes excessive growth of the liver and spleen, as well as dryness of the skin and loss of hair on the head, eyebrows and eyelids.

Vitamin D: There are different types of Vitamin D, D2 and D3. The chemical names of Vitamin D2 are Argocalciferol, Calciferol, Viosterol. Vitamin D3 is called cholecalciferol. 7-Dihydrocholesterol is a precursor of vitamin D3 in the skin of all animals. It is converted to cholecalciferol by ultraviolet rays in the scorching sun. The fungi ergot and yeast contain ergosterol.

Vitamin D is found in very small amounts in plants. In all animals it is present in small quantities in the stomach and liver. It is found in oils obtained from shark and cod liver. Vitamin D is not sufficient in daily diet. So if you use liver oil or sit in the sun, you can make up for the lack of vitamin D. Adults take 15 mg daily. Vitamin D is essential. 

Its function and the function of the parathyroid hormone in the parotid gland complement each other. Vitamin D controls the metabolism of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D affects the formation of bones and teeth in the body. This increases the absorption of both calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D maintains regular levels of phosphate in the blood.

Vitamin D deficiency causes changes in the bones of children's wrists, wrists and legs. Cartilage forms at the ends of the long bones in the body, the bones bend and the legs become crooked, the skull bones do not calcify and the teeth decay. These symptoms are called mumps disorder. Regular intake of vitamin D in a muddy child prevents the excretion of intestinal minerals and prevents mumps disorders. Therefore, Vitamin D is called Pratimuddus Vitamin. 

Vitamin D deficiency in adults causes osteoporosis. As a result, the amount of calcium in the bones decreases and the bones become brittle. Vitamin D overdose causes toxicity. Blood calcium and phosphorus levels rise, calcification occurs in the kidneys and blood vessels, and causes headaches, fatigue, and abdominal pain.

Vitamin E: Its chemical name is tocopherol. Vitamin E is naturally found in vegetable oils as alpha, beta, gamma and delta-tocopherol. Regular cooking does not destroy this vitamin; But frying sprats destroys this vitamin.

Vitamin E is found in all types of foods. Safflower, peanut, corn and vinegar oils, cereals, pulses, green leafy vegetables contain vitamin E. Salt (lettuce) leafy vegetables and garlic (alpha-alpha) grasses are high in vitamin E in wheat germ oil. Vitamin E is also found in butter, egg yolk and liver.
